We have been looking at different tent manufactures, Outwell, Khyam, Vango and SunnCamp/SunnFlair. There is a lot of choice...
The SunnCamp tents seem to have a lot of living space which is important to us but the bedrooms seem a bit small, has anyone had any experience with these tents?
Sunncamp Tents get great feedback on here, if you want to find out more about the tents that appeal to you - do a search - click search (above) then type in the tent name and in the box below sellect Tents - - - and you will see threads relating to most tents.
Hope that helps - I'm a newbie too so happy to meet you.
Hi I have had 2 sunncamp tents and have just bought another, certainly can't fault them. Plenty of living area and the bedrooms we have always found a good size too. Originally we had the Globetrotter XL and a few years ago changed to the APS3006+ which I believe has been changed to the Tourist but definately a good tent. The Day Room/Tent is ideal for evening parties as well, it lets the kids sleep in the tent and hides the debris and empty beer cans, alot warmer than being sat in the open field. The newest addition is a sioux 4, not been able to put it up yet but it is just a small one for overnight stops.
I've just got a Sunncamp Sprint after seeing one erected at Camperlands. It's a 4 berth one bedroom tent and admittedly the bedroom is a tad small but is compensated by the generous living space. Unless you are performing ballroom dancing the sleeping quarters size is unimportant. I got the tent off eBay for 138 quid BNIB which included postage. I've not opened it yet but the whole tent had better be in there !
I had a lot of Sunncamp tents in the past from very small to very big. The tents were extremely good and well laid out. Customer Service on the other hand was very poor. Only ever had one problem and that was with my Sunncamp Marathon. This was that the zips became un-stitched. Took ages to get the problem rectified but all was well in the end.
I have had a Tourist 6+ and now have a Bravo 4 as our weekend tent. They are a good mid-range reliable make which are fine for Spring/Summer camping, though I am not sure they would take heavy gales/storms.
However, I am making a comparison to the Vango Quest we got to replace the Tourist+, whilst I have to say that the Sunncamp build quality is not quite so good, the Quest WAS a top spec model from Vango ( a family size tent made from mountain-spec materials), so probably not a fair comparison to the Sunncamps!
As for bedroom sizes, these were fine for our needs (smaller bedroom is more cozy) and different models have differing layouts and room sizes anyway.
Our vario 900 has four large bedrooms, all of which you can stand up in and which will take 2 airbeds in each. We had a problem with leaking zips on ours, and I know it wasn't the only one on the 2006 model, and when we last went camping we had puddles all over the tent, but to be fair there were gale forces winds and driving rain for six hours so something had to give I suppose!
I have a Sunncamp frame tent and love it! I find the bedrrom areas a very good size, and the living area provides us with plenty of living area for 7 of us.
