Hi Pager33
We've only erected it 3 times so far as we bought it in July. The first time we erected it took about an hour (but my OH is a bit of a perfectionist and insisted on everything being just so!). We've now got it down to about 35-50 mins from start to finish (including inserting the bathtub sheet in the outer living area. The great thing about it is we just leave the bedrooms attached and everything goes up in one.
We only use the third bedroom if the kids have friends staying. It does take quite a chunk out of the inner living space (although it's still quite spacious). At these times we tend to use it as a temporary night time only room. It only takes a few minutes to hang it and take it down and we simply throw the kids sleeping things into the second bedroom during the day.
I would disagree that this is an 8 berth tent if you use double airbeds as you can only fit one bed in each room although I suppose you could sleep 3 small kids across one double if necessary.
The ventilation is excellent. When we purchased the tent it was on a boiling hot day. As we wandered around the tents erected for viewing we were surprised at how much cooler the SV8 was than the others (especially the dome type tents without many windows such as the Diablo 600 or 900 which we were originally going to buy). They were scorching hot and very stuffy. We can open every window and leave them open at night if necessary due to the fact that the Outwell windows have the mesh. They are very flexible as you can have a variety of combinations, eg plastic window only, plastic window and mesh for privacy, window with mesh and curtain, mesh only or fully open.
I know there are several threads discussing problems with 2006 Outwells but we still feel that this is the best tent for us and despite having a lifting SIG we are waiting for a 2007 replacement as we haven't found another tent that suits our purposes.
Hope this helps
