We are looking to buy a tent and following advise to go and look at tent off we popped to a small camping shop near us. To be honest there was not a lot off tents on display but there was a Sunncamp Family Vario 4 at £125 and my OH fell in love with it. We looked round the tent for 20 minutes or so and to our untrained eyes it looked well put together, and would suit our needs very well. My only reservation about the tent is the size of it, it is massive, could be a hangar for a small aircraft!!! and am a bit concered about the tents abilty to cope with high winds. Can tents like these stand up to high winds? We do want to camp in the highlands and dont want to wake up at 3am looking at the stars becuase the tent had a sudden urge to become a kite. Any comments please?
Our vario 600 (even more aircraft hanger like than the 400!!) withstood some "interesting" weather in wales 2 years ago. Also lassummer it was fairly windy in Cornwall and we had no problems with it at all.
If youve seen it at £125 & like it, buy it! Excellent price for a great tent thats not available for 2007, the smallest available is the Family Vario 600!
we bought the vario 6 last year(£300), if you can get one at that price buy it!!!!, you wont go to wrong with it, easy to put up and loads of space. we spent a weekend in torrential wind and rain and it stood up to it fine.
Use Delta pegs top keep in on the ground and you won't go wrong. It may look massive now but once you get all your gear inside it soon 'shrinks'. And if it's raining you have all that room to gripe about the weather in.

We must be experts - we are out standing in our chosen fields!
Great price, you like it, it seems too big just now (think women's handbag - you'll soon acquire more than enough stuff to fill it with!) and it's a good make.
If worried about wind, Delta Pegs are you friends - see here.
Also, for camping in the highlands invest in at least one of these!
