Hi, I am thinking of investing in an evolution 600, jsut wondered if anyone had one and would recommend them? There will be two adults putting it up, is this enough?
There was quite a bit of dicusssion and postings on this tent last year, which is worth doing a search for.
Great looking tent, IMHO, which is supposedto be very easy to pitch; however (from memory of the postings) it had a major design fault with water coming in via a zip - check in the postings.
It would certainly be worth checking they changed whatever it was for this years models.

Yes, it was the bottom zip that was the problem...water would run down the outside of the tent and seep straight through the zip section at the base of the door.
This tent has so much going for it, but my concern was about water getting in through the doors when they were open ie if you were going in and out during a shower. Because of the steep angle of the walls, particularly on the Evo600, it would be more like opening a Velux/skylight window in the roof of a house when the water would pour in, rather than just opening a normal door where you would get relatively little rain blowing in sideways. And then once the rain had fallen into the Evo it would pool inside the bucket-effect of the SIG.
Sorry if I didn't explain that very well but I hope you get my drift! MT

The tent has been redesigned for 2007. The walls are not so steep and the fitting of the door has been changed. The previousy quoted problems will not happen, just be sure to get the 2007 version!

Hi Quong, that is excellent news! I really liked the look of the Sunncamp Evo last year apart from the door/walls issues which you say have now been resolved. Brilliant.
You seem to know a lot about Sunncamp, are you a dealer? MT

Hi outdoorworld are taking orders for this tent, the new 2007 model. I was looking at the 400 and it seems the leaking trouble is sorted out supposedly. A nice looking tent with style.
