i've got 2 kids (4 and 6) - attracted to the tent by its SIG and space.

any thoughts welcomed,

I looked at the Vario 6 before I decided on the Monty 6.  They do have a good loyal following here so I'm sure someone will be along shortly to advise!

hi

we bought the vario 6 last year, we got the tent for the space and how easy it was to put up. i have 2 girls 4 & 2 they sit in the car while the wife helps me put up the first pole, once thats in i can do the rest myself. The only problem we had was leaking zips in a torrential storm last august in norfolk the tent stood up to the wind unlike some others even saw an awning turn into a kite. Sunncamp have addressed this problem on the 2007 model. the zip problem woyld not stop me buying another vario.

It dosn't say were your from but give gary at www.crosscampingandleisure.co.uk a call his advice alone is worth the call.

good luck & happy camping

Hi, we having the vario 900 which is the same as the 600 but with an annex you throw over the back to make two more bedrooms. I agree that for space and ease of putting up, they're great. We also had a problem with leaking zips and had to seam sealant them, but still not 100%. Hopefully this has been rectified in the mew models. We can get ours up with one adult and 2 nine year olds, which is handy too.

Hi & Welcome to UKCS

Great looking tent, considered it when we were looking for tent, just couldn't afford it at the time. How much have you seen it for?

Still thinking bout it but also tempted by the Vango Vail 700 2007 version, also the gelert lokon vario seems quite similar.

Before making a final decision, try to see a few in the flesh if you can.

Whatever tent you end up choosing, I hope you and your family have many happy years of camping.

Hi I just got my vario 600+ yesterday and cant wait for summer to get out there, I have looked up every thing that has ever been written about it so I have virtually lived in it from last August I will be getting the sun canopy for it too but its not in shop yet We have two small dogs so SIG is great. Hubby had a little panicett there thinks its too big for two people but I dont you never know who will drop in for a quick game of cards or a couple of drinks, stacks of space, great.   Hazel

congratulations on your purchase. If i were you i would get the zip seams re sealed( if its a 2006 model) as this was the only fault we had with ours and it only leaked slightly when it fell down.

happy camping

Thanks for advice any ideas on what to seal it with is it best to do it when we have it  up on site?  never had this problem before with any of our tents although I have seen reports on this site about leaking seams on Vario 600+.  Think ours is probably 2006 model.........cheers

hi your best bet is to email sunncamp www.sunnflair.co.uk , tell them you had leaking zips. I did this and they sent me some sealent. put it up in the garden if you can and apply as per instructions.

dont panic to much ours only leaked when it was torrential rain and  then we just put a tea towel at the bottom of the door.

happy camping

Thanks again I will contact sunnflair, we camp in the south of Ireland every year so the chances of torrential rain is very high if other years are anything to go by, we are going earlier this year at the end of June, so here's hoping.  cheers
