Anyone have one of these Are they any good? Been offered a brand new one for £75 (2006) model. Should I buy it, looking for a roomy tent for 2 of us.

By the way a new 2006 Cantera 9 is available, or was as of yesterday, same price (after a bit of haggling) if anyone interested.

Hi Strandloper, we have the Cantera 9 and the quality is great. £75 is a very good price for last year model. We got the 9 for the pair of us and indeed they are roomy tents. Just remember like all big dome tents inner pitch first so can get wet when pitching in adverse weather. Also bedroom pods are sloping, other than that a great tent and we would not get rid of ours.

Thanks guys, bought it and arrived today! Can't wait to put it up and try it. The Cantera 9 seems a tad large for 2 of you Rick! I was worried the 6 would be too large for 2 of us! A bit disappointed that there is no skylight or bedroom windows, must be a bit dark inside, but hey for £75, for a brand new tent that retails at over £200. I can't really complain.

A bit disappointed with the instructions. Any tips for putting it up Rick? How long do you reckon it will take 2 of us?

If anyone wants the Cantera 9 2006 model, or a Vango Gamma I bought my from Ibex Camping in Cambridge (just google it). After a bit og a haggle I got it delivered for the price.

Hi Strandloper, these tips are based on the Cantera 9 that we can put up in about an hour. We found it easier to put all poles in the inner tent before we started to bend the inner tent into shape. The first pole to be bent into shape and located on the ring and pin system, when you look at the crossover in the middle of the inner should be the bottom most pole of the crossover. We found it easier with one standing in the inner tent supporting the poles as they are being bent in to shape. Once living area up put the bedrooms poles into place and peg accordingly. We personally found it easier to pull the flysheet over the inner into the wind, as this can help lift over the centre dome but can also become a sail. Once tent out on the floor before you start putting it up, I always walk round skattering pegs around for ease when pegging. You can't beat practising putting the tent up though.

Our Cantera came from Ibex last spring for £285, nice people, so your not to far from us. Enjoy your fantastic new tent. If you need anyother help with the tent just post here.
