OK, my Towsure Catalogue hasn't arrived yet, it's too wet to put up the "new" Cabanon so I've been surfing the Argos Catalogue.....

I have no idea what the quality of this would be like but I came across this one that looked quite interesting.

http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1428744-10294381?url=http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3400511.htm

If you click on the image shows it differently and in the book it shows that you can have a canopied bit at the front (half tent half canopy).

I like tents that are multifuncional so you can use them differently in good and bad weather.

I am such an anorak I thought it might be fun to buy one, put it up then take it back later!

Hi Piglet,

Just had a look in the Argos Cat....Wow....you can have it as just roof and walls. Now that is a BIG day tent....hehe.

A few deltas to hold it down and you've got yourself a party tent !

Cheers,

Pete.

"2000mm hydrostatic head for flysheet
and 1000mm for inner tent and extra walls."

Me thinks it is a gazebo with some attachable panels.... mmmm' not sure I would fancy it as a tent. A darn big day doom possibly.

I know, I'd just really like to see how it works! It's quite innovative - I'd like to see more designs of this type (tent makers are you listening?!)

There are similar tents in the US, as they can take the risk with just a bikini flysheet. Eureka and the like do them.

When you have 20 mins to spare, have a wander round the US camping and outdoor sites, it is quite interesting.

Hello from a new kid on the block. Am I glad I read this, we were considering this tent but need more than 'daywear.'  We are as our name suggests, going for camping for the first time this year with mixed feelings amongst us. Can you advise what might be a decent first tent for 4 with a dog, considering that at the start we hope to be fair weather campers. But you never know!

I've just had a look on a US site - they certainly use every inch of space when calculating how many a tent will sleep - they make us Brits look obsessed with space!

Look!

Hi Lou,

Welcome to UKCS.

If you're looking for a tent about £250, you might want to consider the following thread especially if you've got camping gear to get too.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=3&TopicID=95277&PagePosition=1

Otherwise, its worth looking around....£250 will buy you plenty of scope instead of a tent from Argos.

Cheers,

Pete.

I wasn't this nervous before my wedding I'm sure. Wish us luck, first time camping and I do really want to be an outdoor type don't I?. . . . . Don't I ??? Will let you know how we get on. Oh close to Edinburgh as we have family near there. Bye for now

Read up on keeping warm at night, nothing more miserable & offputting than being cold at night while trying to sleep.Good luck & enjoy.

We had one which was the normal 3m x 3m size.  It had a SIG but all it did was clip to the poles, we bought it as we couldn't afford a new frame tent at the time and thought it would be ok - well it wasn't any good to sleep in and it leaked !

The poles broke one windy day while using it as a gazebo, so the sides and floor are now outside ready to be skipped as is been in our loft years!!
