A very warm welcome to a very helpful and freindly forum. I don't know much about the tent you have mentioned, except they are from argos.

Most folks would most likely recommend you buy a tent from a recognised company eg vango, outwell, kyam ect

If the pro action suits your needs and gets you started go for it.

We use a Pro Action Arizona 8 berth and we think it's great. It withheld a very heavy thunderstorm the first time we used it with only a tiny bit of water getting in the living area flysheet. It was one hellava storm though. The only downside with the bigger tents is they take a long time to put up and take down - ours takes us about an hour with two adults. When you have kids this can be hard work as kids are sooooo impatient. We've just bought a smaller 4 man tent for our weekends away. I would go for a tent which is easy to erect as well as having a high hydrostatic head (waterproof rating). Not sure how easy the Nevada is to erect - probably the same as ours I would have thought. Don't be put off by others who insist on expensive brand names. At least the price is good with Argos tents and you usually get spare poles. Plus they are easy to return if you do find a fault.

Pro-Action tents are the Argos house brand and are okay, but you can do better for the money if you Google around the online camping shops and look at the bargains in the 2006 discontinued models from the big tent manufacturers, like Vango, Outwell, Lichfield, Coleman, EasyCamp, Kyham, Royal and more.

Welcome to the site, Andy .

I agree with Val. Why not post details of your budget, and requirements, and let the folk on here find you a real bargain?

At the end of the day, the decision is yours.

Hey Andy, that is very similar to the Vango Oregon 600; the 2006 model is a snip at £119.95 here (and the 800 is even more of a saving, at £134.95, same website).
