Speedy reply, Thanks, thought that was how it was supposed to go but wasn,t sure what to do with the third set of ties in the middle I did try it, is there meant to be a gap between the canopy and the tent, it seems a bit flappy like that.
Is the centre tie on the canopy supposed to attach to the middle guyline gusset, over the top of the door?... I don't know because I haven't got a 'screen canopy', it's just a thought...
i wish i was going to cornwall with our XL tomorrow! Let us know how you get on with the canopy as i intend to get one before we go camping next month.
Will let you know, also will try the annex if feeling daring enough or need the space. I had a bit of a spending spree and got the works including the fitted ground sheet. I had a trailer tent last year and couldn't afford a new one so this is more affordable way to keep under canvas...well polyester.
I only ever tie the two outer straps, when you peg out the outer poles pull them nice and taunt and it will not flap.My profile has a couple of pics of canopy attached to my ridgi pod.
Well, have returned from testing out my new Khyam Classic XL and could not of had better weather for it. The tent went up in about 10 mins, all pegged in and then added annex which took a little longer to do. I think with beds in and cooker all set up was about an hour in all. How big!!! this extra space was great although I didn't really need it as we cooked and ate outside, but if weather was not good this would definitely be needed. As the annex was on the front I tried to put the sunshade on the side but as before could not work ouyt how it would go. I have seen pics on NEWBS profile and it looks to me as the sunshade fits the rigipod fine but cant see how to fit it to my Classic so I am going to contact shop today for advice.
Glad you had agreat time with your Khyam! I can see from your pics why you had a problem attaching the sun shade. The part of the annexe which covers the tent, also covers the access to the poles that you tie the canopy to!!
Here's a couple of things to try.
Is it possible to slip the tie ends of the canopy under the bit of the annexe that goes over the roof and tie it to the poles there? I can see a potential problem in that it could cause some strain on the fabric of the annexe and make it a bit skewiff.
Alternatively. the canopy will fit over the end of the annexe. Hook the end with ties over the horizontal pole that supports the top of the end of the annexe. Then tie to the vertical part of the poles sort of from behind, so that there is almost a seal between annexe and canopy. (Oooh that sounds complicated - sorry! Maybe someone else can explain it more clearly )

andy.. where are you
i am sure your explanation is fine BC :) as i hope to have an annexe and a canopy i will take note. I am thinking of putting the annexe and canopy either side of the 'main' door.. would that work ??
i have take3n the plunge and ordered the screen canopy. I am getting it from a local shop that i have only just discovered! It is actually a tad more expensive from there than via the internet as they are getting it in specially.. but they are very nice and i have an excuse to go back and have another look round
i hope it comes up looking more like newbs picture than the official one!
I don't know if we will be able to attach it as well as the annexe and a tarp may have proved more useful for a big group of us but with the weather we are having i think an extra rain cover, that doesn't take up much room, can't be a bad thing.. even if i have to tie it to something else.
we have used the canopy a couple of times now. Once attached to a gazebo rather than the tent.
a bit disappointed that it leaves a gap (whatever you do) between the edge of the canopy and the tent .. in a heavy downpour we had to close the tent which was a shame. Otherwise it was excellent.
the next time it rained we had taken it down because of high winds but used the pole to prop up the tent canopy.. sticking it into one of the mudflap eyelets .. which stopped that pooling with water.. so we could sit in the dry without being shut in.
