Has anyone got any advice/ideas how to keep warm when camping without EHU apart from the obvious blankets, hats n stuff.
I was wanting to buy sum sort of heater but haven't got a clue which one. The reason being we can't get booked anywhere with EHU but there's no way i'm missing out on my first weekend away this year camping.
I had a fairly large and airy tent and if it was really cold I put the camping cooker on low. One little trick I discovered was to place the folding gauze toaster on top. This became red hot and dispersed the heat every bit as good as a gas fire.
I wouldn't recommend doing this with children in the tent though...or clumsy adults!
Ha ha ha what are you lot like??? I would have said the OH but he's a cold blooded so and so lol.................
I think you're right Liddenham Black Cat Heater............................ i'm too soft really i like my EHU but as usual left things to the last minute!
Never mind i'll take my hot water bottle and get a Black Cat Heater i'm sure i'll be as warm as toast ........................... i might even get too hot if he turns my way ha ha!
Kill two birds with one stone,GET A COBB,cook your supper on it then put in tent,It got us through a few very cold days last summer.and its safe to leave over night because it just goes out.It takes the chill off the tent quite quickly,We do also have a sungas heater but i dont feel very safe with it .Plus it takes loads of cylinders if you have a cold snap.anyway good luck whatever you choose

Thermal undies make great PJs and keep you really snuggly. We have the sunngas parabolic heater attachment to go on our campingaz 907 bottle which we have anyway for cooking. You do need to bear in mind that using gas will create moisture, so only use it when absolutely needed.
cant beat good quality sleeping bags. we have found the black cat heater to be good. it seems to work better if u have a sewn in ground sheet so the heat cant escape as easily. when goin to bed i also take a hot water bottle and wrap it in a towel so it stays warm longer.
if u have a air bed put one of those picnic rugs with the silver backing on top of it - between u and the bed. we have found that seems to cut down the cold air coming through the air bed.
Thanks oois25 for that good bit of advice.................
We're going to have to do something like that as my eldest daughter has now decided to come with us and bring my grandson (1 year old) ...................... which is fab
