Hi All,

Wonder if you could give a bit of advice?

Having thought that we were settled on the Diablo 600 (2006 model) we now worry that the bedroom pods with their sagging issue may make this tent worth a miss and opt for the Breckenridge instead?

We went to see the Khyam Breckenridge at Jacksons and although we liked it, we just prefered the Diablo. No real reason why, we just did - although the Diablo bedrooms are 30cm longer that the Breckenridge's which swayed us.

We've come to these 2 tents because they both have SIG and are 3 berth in each pod instead of 2 so there's a bit more room and they both also have generous living areas.

Can anyone help us make our decision at long last? Or is there a different tent to throw in to the mix?!!

Hi, We have the Vango Diablo 600 (2006) and we love it. The tent is huge, massive porch area which is so useful. Don't know much about the other tent you are looking at but just wanted to say that if you do decide to go for the Diablo 600 you wont be disappointed.

We have a Daiblo 900. The "Saging "bedrooms arn't a problem -how much time awake do you spend in there? especially with so much living area. The porch is huge last year we had two "camp Kitchens" all our shoes , and wet weather gear and still had room to put up a clothes airer for the towels. thus leavng the living area for just that- chilling out when it was bucketing down out side!

i haven't seen it but i believe that the 2007 diablo has an extra hoop in the bedroom pods to give more headroom

Hi Gillian & MUFC7,

I'm so pleased to hear from owners of the Diablo!!! I really wanted to check whether the 2007 model was worth the extra £80/90 and from your comments, I would say not! The 2006 model is on offer at the moment for £196.95 plus £5 postage and I think I might as well just bite the bullet and go for it.

When we saw the 600 at GO Outdoors a month ago, we loved it straight away, it was everything we were looking for. They'd put an airbed in the bedroom and a folding table and chairs in the living area to show how big it was and we were really impressed. I guess your comments just confirm in my mind that our first choice was the right one.

Thank you very much

we have the campus (kyam) breckenridge deluxe (9 berth). it is just fantastic for a longer camp. we used to sleep in the living area, put all the other stuff in one of the bedroom pods and kids in the other 2 pods.  we have had to "upgrade" to a tin tent as OH is disabled and i am useless at putting things together, but if we were able we would continue with this tent. you can stand upright in the whole of this tent and we have a huge airbed which fits in the bedroom.

we are considering selling this now as we won't be able to use it much (regretfully) and have only used it  4 times

You must have seen the same tent as we did.  This persuaded OH that she wanted a 600 (again) but think we will be saving for the 2007 model althoughas you say £80 more.  As well as the extra bedroom hoop (would be worth it for us coz kids do spend time on bedrooms when we away) its also more waterproof and I belive the inner has more waterprofing.  Inner first pitching when wet was always a worry for us when we were thinking about it.

Hi Mike

I do like the idea of the extra pole for the bedroom and I also heard about the improved waterproofing BUT I'm still not convinced about paying the extra 80 odd quid.

The other problem I might have is this - there are 3 different tent colours according to Vango's website - do you think they all have that ungodly orange interior? We saw a Vango at the exhibition at the NEC a couple of weeks ago and the orange was too much for our liking!

We have a 900 2006 model and had 600 previously. Bedrooms are fine just stick the kids there. They are FAB.

Hi Cath,

Nice to read another positive comment on the Diablo. I think we'll just go for the 2006 model. It's a shame that our Go Outdoors isn't stocking the 2007 model and therefore needing to reduce the 2006 one to get rid of it

Peas, we have the Brekenridge Delux, (see photo in gallery) and I have to say it is brilliant, loads of room, we went away to Norfolk last year, and it rained most of the time. Not one leak, and the kids spent quite sometime in their pods, reading, listening to music etc. We had 4 large lounger chairs and a decent sized table in the main area, at all times.

Just cannot fault this tent, but the decision is yours at the end of the day (just think what other equipment you could  get with the £80)

Stumpy....
