I hope we all get some luck like this from time to time.
What would have the retailer done if you did take it back. You wanted to pay the price, not pay extra for the 2007 model (or have to meet somewhere in the middle). So if you take it back and the shop gives you a 2006 model, what are they then going to do with the 2007 model you have just used (you weren't to know until you put it up). The retailer would have to sell it as 2nd hand, or demo stock, and at price close to what you've paid for it. So any honest retailer would probably have said "Our mistake, your good fortune".
I had to double check where you lived, I was kind of hoping you had got it from camptentman
Hi,
Wow it seems like I have caused some controvesy here!
We called the retailer and told them about the mistake and they have told us to keep the 2007 model anyway at no extra charge.
We would have been more than happy with the 2006 model, it was just something extra to have got something slightly better.
Ive been undercharged and gone back, Ive been overcharged and gone back. Which do you think was the easier to sort out? Swings and roundabouts, Mungie enjoy your tent. Some always look down their noses.
Well at least I have decided on my new signature, not advertisng but saying I am a retailer should keep everyone happy...I hope, but does it allow me tosay what I think and be Loud Mouthed from Essex???? Awnsers on a postcard Skatty

Er, you mean that retailers are actually not human beings? Now you are really worrying me!
Well what I say is this good for you Mungie and a great tent it is although I say it my self being the proud owner of the 2006 model we love our Alaska 8 not seen the new one so dont know what changes they have made stood upto some foul weather and was still standing and no leaks only one tip we found that was good was to have a look at the pitching instructions on the khyam website for the indiana 8 as very very similar tent helped us on our first pitch. We have just bought the outwell side canopy for ours just not had the weather to try it yet but will let you know how it goes.
Hi munglie, who knows they might have ran out of the '06 tents and not removed their offer making them somewhat obliged to offer you the '07 version. At least you were honest anyway, I hope you have a great time and I'm sure your tent will keep you comfortable and dry if what goes around really does come around. Have fun!
