Anyone know a good source of reasonably priced tent poles?
Between camping this January and now they all seem to have gone for a walk :/ (i was going to sort out one that snapped, remember them weather warnings? we were on a hill in the peak district :P )
The tent itself was £90 and the high street stores are wanting £30 for replacement poles (and I'm sure they know where they can forceably insert them) i can't be very accurate about the size, i know they were fiberglass and slightly thicker than the thin ones on my 2man tent :/ There were 3 lots of poles to form a tunnel..
I'm thinking i'd cut them to size and fiddle about till i got them right..
To be honest, £30 sounds perfectly reasonable for a set of (3??) ready strung poles guaranteed to fit your tent. Pole replacement sections are about £1 each after all.
These were just "acme replacement poles"x5/6, not specifically for mine so i'd still need to hack them up (i'd not mind so much if they did fit right on)
Where can single spare poles be got for £1? (because there more than that around ere)
Ah great, thanks for them.. I'll have to have a good check and see how much is actually needed
^ This is the tent itself, its a Lichfield Cherokee, although I've seen the same design or variants a million times with different names.. (I'll have a lookey see if I can get the set of replacements off them)
i have a lichfield , i had to replace one pole section, my camping shop only charged me a pound. but if each lost pole was made up of 10 small sections you , will get the price close to £30 pound ..
yep, its looking like I'd need to replace the lot, phoned them today and although they were very helpful they don't sell them :/
Looks like i might be tent shopping before rally time :/
