Am sure you get lots of these questions! I've been browsing on here for a few days now and you sound like a helpful, knowledgable lot so I'm after some advice.
Currently have a Wynnester - not sure what make but looks quite like a giant brussel sprout when erected - which just doesn't give us enough space and we're a bit sick of the one room arrangment. Have been to PJ camping today for a look about and have a short list of two both of which are 'Easy Camp'. Still quite new to camping and haven't heard of Easy Camp before. Any advice on the brand quality before I spend my money?
The favourite is the Taranto 600 which is too big for us really but has great living space for rainy days.
Easy camp are a budget make ,not a bad make ,just lower end of the market . I know a few people here have easycamp so hopefully someone can help you more !
Hi, We've been camping for 8 years and would swear by Cabanon tents. We have had a Rotonde (not made any longer but used ones available on ebay) and have just replaced it with an Aruba. They're not cheap but really are the Rolls Royce of tents. Our 12 year old Rotonde withstood heavy rain (14 hours non-stop downpour) and thunderstorms in Italy last year and in the french pyrenees a few years before and we had plenty of space for 4 of us (two teenagers)to cook & eat, play card & board games and read books while it poured.
i used to have an easy camp taranto 500, it was ok, no leakage and went up nice and easy, only used it for one week, and as i was taking down you could see where the seams were starting to stretch and some stitches had come loose, we had some blowey days but nothing terrible, it is a budget make, i would be tempted to stick to the bigger brands, wynmaster/outwell/gelert/vango and try and see some tents up before you choose
Hi monkeycamper and welcome to UKCS a most addicitive website. Easy camp are a well known make but as mentioned before are at the lower end of the market. But if the tent suits your budget and most importantly your personnal criteria then its got to be the tent for you. Did you go to PJ's at St Albans ? If so try and go to the Romford outlet as it has probably four times as many tents up for you to browse and consider.
You have confirmed what I was thinking. Was concerned that you seemed to get so much more for your money with Easy Camp. Whilst we're not planning anything too exciting and we only tend to get away for 3-4 weeks a year I want something that'll last for a few years.
Think we will head down to the Ringwood show next weekend before we make any decisions. Thanks for tip about PJ's in Romford rickit. Might give that a try too. This is definitely v addictive got very little done this afternoon.
So exciting to find people who love camping. Our friends are very much 4 star hotel kinda people.
