Yes after much deliberation we have bought the Bearlake, was all set on the Vango Vail 700 but saw the Bearlake today at the Outdoor Show and it just blew me away. Didnt even have to persuade OH he just said " I want one". So it now sitting in our hallway. Ive had it out of the bag, found the thermometer!! and even managed to get it back in the bag. Cant wait to pitch it now. I love it. What swung it for us was the material, it was very windy at the NEC and some of the tents were battered and flapping around. the Bearlake was quiet, warm and cosy but I loved the mesh on the windows/ doors and the option of mesh/ half mesh or plastic at the windows. Oh yes and the curtains are great too.

Enjoy your new purchase, you have brought in my opinion one of the best tents around for all the reasons you say.

I now completly understand why people rave about polycotton, hopefully we shouldnt get too hot in France. Also hoping it will be ok to pitch. They seem to be selling well, we got the last one Yeomans had at the show.

It's a nice looking tent Pager, I'm glad you got yourself sorted.

Does it have storm flaps or does the ZIG just zip in a few inches up the side of the tent?

ZIG zips in about 3 inches up the inside of the tent. Thanks for your help and advice regarding polycotton, its so great, cant wait to try it out. May try and pitch it next weekend, weather permitting.

We paid £539.99 for it

Well done pager33, the Bear lake is fantastic, probably my fave tent too! It didn't suit us as we've two small children and we all like to sleep together in one room so the room configuration was no good unfortunately.

It Outwell ever launch a polycotton Nebraska though I'll be first in the queue!!

Best wishes

John

Wonderful tent, seen that one on display elsewhere, just make sure you dry it out properly when you get it home to avoid the dreaded mildew monster!

we did ideally want 3 bedrooms, one each for kids, 11 and 8 but we will probably have one of us in with each of them or put son by himself and daughter with us, OH and son in smaller pod and me and daughter in larger (of course) plus space in the larger pod for clothes/ bags. If we left the kids together they would wriggle and annoy each other and half the site most of the night! They love the ground level window on either side of the tent, so hopefully that means they will be as far away from each other at night as they can in the Bearlake. Hopefully in years to come they may bring out a 3 berth Bearlake. We did consider the Norfolk Lake but like the space in the living area of the Bearlake and the canopy rather than porch as it will be used in France mainly with hot ?? weather.

I saw one yesterday at the yeomans show - it's a stunning tent. Probably the best I've seen.
