I am a 37 year old man looking to get back in touch with nature and meet like minded people. I miss the company of a woman if i am 100% honest, life can be cruel and ive been single for 10 years from no fault of my own, life is ticking away. I used to be a corporal in air cadets and we used to go on long hiking expeditions into the wild for 14 days at a time living off military ration packs and trekking the Welsh coastline for charitable events and i once aided a DOE expedition in Snowdonia with VHF radio coverage. To say i have camping experience would be a understatement, I once went to Rotterdam in the Netherlands solo for 14 days to enjoy the culture and experience camping in isolation 800 miles from home! I am not afraid to go camping anywhere in the UK & some places abroad. I have a car and will travel however being a solo camper and single middle aged man is difficult at the best of times as it is for anyone single i imagine male or female and it kind of takes the fun out of life and can be quiet depressing as we all need human contact. This pandemic only enhances the feeling of solitude and i am yearning to go camping again possibly to meet someone like minded people in a simular situation or just to go camping with other singles. I enjoy fishing and open fires under the stars and have quiet the array of fishing equipment with as many life stories to share. I have a 55L waterproof backpack filled with survival gear like a bow drill and ration packs just incase the nasty stuff hits the fan metaphorically speaking and although unlikely needed it's better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it 😊. I miss being a part of a group like in air cadets, miss being outdoors with like minded people and miss the love of a good woman all of which i need to get back into my life and i am sure many can relate to. Are there any campsites and campers in the UK that could facilitate my needs? ☝️☝️ Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hey. 34 male here, in a similar siutation. I love being outdoors in beautiful places, and in April I had a 2.5 week solo hiking trip to Scotland planned, but had to cancel all of it due to the virus.

I don't have as much experience as you as I only recently started getting in to this kind of lifestyle.

I'm at the point in life where everyone around me seems to have paired off and holiday as couples so have no choice to travel on my own, but it would be great to have somebody similar to me that I can go places with.

Where abouts in the country are you based?

Sorry if you're not looking for male friends. It wasn't clear from your post if you were looking for friends in general or just female company.

Hi Mike00 and VentureAdventure.

I'm of a similar age to both of you. I'm really into natural history, outstanding natural beauty and the wilderness. I'm interested in doing some wild camping this autumn and winter. (including in Scotland). please contact me if you're interested. 🙂
