Hello everyone. I'm another new member. Have been tenting/trailer tenting/caravanning on my own with pooches for the last 8 years or so and thoroughly enjoying it. I bought another tent at the end of last season so the caravan may end up in moth balls. Really miss the 'smell' of canvas and have had to resort to visiting the local camping shop occassionaly for a sniff so i'm sure they are delighted that i eventually made a purchase. My son thinks i've gone off my trolley (not sure i was ever on it!) he suggested i carried on with the caravan but slept in the awning if i missed camping so much. Now that just wouldn't be the same. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the forums on this site and can safely assume that i'm not the only mad one. Excellent.I have already booked a few trips with family this year to Hereford, Bala and Cornwall but am looking to do something in september and october on my own so shall keep looking to see what everyone is up to and i will hopefully get to meet some of you then.
You are very welcome to join us any time MOWWD. Our current thread Hardhurst Farm is now 33 pages long! We also have Manorafon in May and Lady Heyes July 2014 in our sights up to now and will have a Halloween Meet at the end of October I would expect.
Thank you Queen Vic. i'm visiting my sister the weekend of your Hardhurst Farm jaunt which is a shame as the Peak District is on my 'to do' list but i'll definitely check the holiday calendar at work to see if i can get to one or more of the others. I work for the NHS so unfortunately don't get a lot of weekends free but i shall do my best. Have already booked the last week of october off work so if anything gets arranged for Halloween that would be great. I originally thought end of October might be too cold for camping but reading the other threads it seems that is still practically summer for some of you
October can be a good month for camping. It has normally the last camp of the season with my son. I have had some superb weather, in the past.
------------- New Year: Hesketh Bank
Feb/March: Red Squirrel
March: lakes
June: Morecambe
Aug: Lake District(not camping camping)
October: Red Squirrel
Good to know heath 63. I shall brave it this year. That'll probably be it until 2015 as my son is getting married in December and i will have that to prepare for.
So you will be ready for another escape at the end of December MOWWD! I expect we will be away for the New Year celebrations again. Here are some photos from earlier this year. Tempted?
Would anyone know if there are any singles events planned for France? I'm getting a bit fed up of being stared at by Dutch couples who think I'm an oddball for going on holidays on my own!

Hi Nigel. How about starting a thread on the
Meeting Up - Continental and Northern Ireland Forum and get a discussion going. I have never been camping in France but I believe there are campsites where everything is set up for you so you wouldn't have to bring any equipment.
