to Bob57 and anyone else who may be interested:
"......Anyway...if there are any adult solo campers of any gender or species who would like to meet the people they talk to online I am quite willing to have a go at organising something in my area. ....."
Hi Bob, Kay here, please count me in (if people don't mind dogs, it's 3 of them and all VERY WELL behaved), i attended a wonderful meet at bagwell farm in the spring (i think), it was great and everyone was so understanding as it was my first meet ever. However if you get solo campers (with dogs attached) meets going please let me know. The geographical areas you mentioned are fine with us :)....although we are rather partial to seaside and forest-like places.
Many thanks
Kay, Sky, Axel and Blade

Hi there All,
I was wondering if anybody managed to get a singles club together for the single 45+ age range of camping and caravanning enthusiasts . . . If so I would love to be part of your meets myself.
Kind regards

In my experience of watching and commenting in the 'Solo' meets boards, Hornetman, Solo/Single parent meets seem to be intended for first time campers or those who are a little shy or nervous of attending the general meets on their own for the first time...especially lone women with children who are quite understandably a little hesitant. The idea being that once they make a few friends within UKCS and find out how the meets are organised and attended, they will be reassured enough to attend the general meets. In fact quite often when people show an interest in solo meets they are encouraged to try a general meet.
I am sure those people who are nervous of attending meets for the first time may well find a solo/single parent meet encouraging and of great help to them, and eventually join in with the general family meets. Many will say they attend both the general and the solo meets and thoroughly enjoy themselves, and good luck to them.
Those of us who enjoy camping/travelling alone and don't particularly want to muck in with families and hordes of kids but would still enjoy meeting up with other lone campers/travellers on occasions to swap stories and experiences over a pint or two seem to be looked upon as a bit of a strange breed - lol.
I doubt whether there are enough of us 'odd bods' within any given area to organise a meet.
