Hi,Im a keen walker, but none of my local walking clubs allow dogs . Are there any dog owners m/f, who would like to join me and my dog, either locally or for weekend camping/walking trips in the lakes.
I thought I would refresh this posting as I think walking with dogs (or just walking) on a camping meet is a good idea. Unfortunately you are too far away for me, Flintstone, but I hope somebody in your neck of the woods will respond.
hi flintstone. i am not far from you. gateshead here. i need to start doing some walking to lose some of the blubber on my belly. too much sitting here in the winter months. and wrong food. the lakes sounds good to me. plus i can get to the lakes area if there is a station there. free travel on the trains. weekend trips is fine for me. as i am not exactly rich. but have enough every 8 weeks for a good weekend. i even have a decent pair of work boots. hardly been used. as i am retired now. the walking will help my knees as well. arthritis. so walking will be good to keep them loose. let me know how ya feel about weekends away. my next chance will be in about 6 weeks time. rain hail or shine. i am going.. just got to get out there.
I would be interested too but your a bit too far away from me... I'm on the Wirral. Just posted a note re solo caravanners, so anyone from this neck of the woods with dog or not, lets get in touch!
Hi All, Thanks for the replys. Im going to the lakes in three or four weeks time for a weekend, I usually like to do a days walking followed by a few drinks. Anyone interested please let me know.
hi flint. sounds good. i may be able to join you. but not too sure yet. cash flow probs. how exactly are you getting to the lakes. do you have a car. and which camp site will you be going to. also what is the cost of the site. how far do you intend to walk. as my knees are not of the young age. more like antique.
