Yes! You could try Hayfield at the edge of the Peaks. There's an adult field and a separate one for families - tents only, no caravans as the road to the site is too narrow. We loved our stay there and I'm a single mum too so am ultra cautious! There's a very dog and family friendly pub about 2 mins walk (Sportsman) and a lovely play park down in the village.
I've also stayed at Fisherground Farm in the Lakes. A fab site with a punting pond for the kids, an adventure playground and a mini railway (with a station at the site) which heads down to the seaside.
Hope you have lots of fun together :-)
