HI there, I am also single wih two children, 8 and 7 and was lookng around for single parent campsites. I cam across 'single with kids'. Ive decided to book on on of their trips at Wicksteed to give the whole camping thing a go. my kids go regulalry with their Dad but we've never been camping together before and I cant wait having grabbed a bargain tent in the sales. SWK is a great site ndhave just signed up for membership. definately worth checking out as it is reassuring knowing i will be joining families in a similar position. would be great to meet up too if any of you out there decide to go along :-)

Hi there claire, I started camping alone last year with my son 15 yrs old, and we went to the Haven site and love it. Do you fancy them cos you can get some real good deals. Where are you fromanyway? I am in worksop Notts

Hi Sandra, we're not far from you, in Pocklington near York...I havent looked at haven, but been looking at hoseasons, although quite expensive. there must be some really good inexpensive sites still out there that are good for exploring and near amenities for the kids and adults alike! All I want is a beach and a pub and we're happy! maybe some nice walks, pony trekking water sports n stuff! Ive been looking around as would like to find somewhere that I can take the kids for a week early summer...any suggestions gratefully received. Picked up my tent yesterday..yippeee and will practise pitching it in the garden when the weather improves a little :-) have you been away camping a lot Sandra...any hot tips for me?

No I havent been much but I have enjoyed it when I have and I always find that the haven sites are brill with lots of amenities included in price and swimming too and shows in the pubs n clubs in the evening, showers n electric. try the Haven site online and you can get a week or 4/5 days really cheap with early booking too. What tent you got?I have a Michigan L and love it . As for tips putting up your tent go on you tube thats what I did watched it a few times then practised in garden, Brill.
