Hello everyone.
my first post on this site.I am female in my fifties very young at heart and get on with all ages. Recently got into camping (tent) Widowed and no camping friends. I have a well behaved dog (whippet)I drive and have my own equipment.Looking for safe friendly groups weekends away or longer at low cost. I live in solihull area of Birmingham and would like to camp not too far away for spur of the moment nice weather weekends. I would travel further with groups once established. It would be nice to throw the tent in the car and take off spur of the moment when the weather is nice. The peace and quiet outdoors is what I enjoy so just chilling out is for me. Suggestions welcome.

Welcome to the forum! I'm too far away to help you but I hope you manage to find other campers to meet up with. You can't beat a bit of good company when camping.

Hi There,

I am from Halesowen and enjoy camping with family and on my own when I get a chance but usually children's social lives mean that there are few spare weekends.

We are members of the Camping and Caravanning Club http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/ and come under their West Midlands district association (DA). DAs set up loads of camping weekends in the local area and Temporary Holiday Sites by the coast and are quite cheap and a chance to camp socially with other members of the club.

I have some C&C magazines if you want to take a look. My mom lives in Shirley so would be happy to post them through your door if you want to take a look. I message you my email address if you want.

My email address is julie_alonzo at hotmail.com and I am only a few minutes from Romsey if you would like me to drop off some previous issues of the C&C mag to your friends. The Out and About section in the magazine lists all the DA meets and Temporary Holiday sites.

As well as the West Midlands DA there is also Birmingham DA and Coventry DA.
