Hi,
I have recently separated and love my camping so don't want to give it up just because I have no significant other to go with. I don't know how it works but I would love to meet new people and enjoy some great weekends.
I have a small but perfectly formed little caravan and also a tent so can do either. I know this is probably the wrong time of year to be joining but strike whilst the iron is hot and all that.........
Does anyone have any tips on how to get started?
jan this is as a good a time as any to make new friends. I will be starting to do more camping. wife has agreed she will come as well. but she is not used to camping with no decent toilets. but we men don't care. so she better get used to it. you are lucky to have a van and a tent. I would love a small car to carry things. but eyesight says no chance. so its the train for us, I want to do the west coast of Scotland. a site as close as possible to the station, arrisaig seems the best bet. I was there in the very early 60s. but don't remember too much about it. too drunk all the time. even 17 years of age. ah the good old days. isle of skye seems good, not been there yet. so may give it ago as the bus goes to the island. . so looking forward to that adventure.
jan we go to a small site in keld a group of us go every easter local walks and 2 nice pubs and you can have fires which is nice at easter as has been down to -10 with snow
Best way to meet people is just book somewhere smile say hello,I prefer small sites to bigger sites..
I was at crowden near glossop just before it closed for the winter was a great place it reopens in march and i plan to go then good thing very little phone signal(I am single seperated 8 months ago not looking for partner either just friends)
if you like walking there is a lot to be done there..
another site is clitheroe I stayed there for a week in october and it was ok as well..
if u ever see me I have a ukcampsite thing in front window say hi.
