Hello all. I'm looking for people to do a bit of camping with. I used to go all the time but don't really have anyone to go with now. I'm based in the North East but I do drive. Would be nice to meet up with like minded folk. Thanks for taking the time to read. Hope to hear from someone.

hi pauiee. i am in gateshead, down in the teams. i will be going in 4 weeks time. should have gone today. but huge electric bill says no going. i dont have transport. just feet and free travel on the tgrain. retired now. wife is new to camping as well. but i have a few years behind me in camping. i just bought a sendero 4 man. nice tent.fully sewn in. and a decent porch to sit in if it is raining. i bought some new gear to with the tent. air beds. new suitcase stove. just need a few pots and pans. and thats it. and they are cheap enough. let me know if there is a camp site you fancy going to. and i will sort my dates for going

Hi Superpup. Thanks for the reply. I don't mind any campsite. Might be easier if you let me know which ones you can get to and I can meet you there. It would be mostly weekends for me.
I have the basic gear. Most of it I got rid of as I wasn't using it anymore. Easy enough to get some more though. I'm in Hebburn by the way.

hi. weekends is fine by me.as i said . i dont have transport. so a train is always best for me. as long as camp site is close by. my wife is looking forward to going camping. i was going to inverkeithing this weekend.but huge electric bill said no. but that is solved now. son and i share all costs. not sure how far you can travel. distance is not a problem for me with free train travel. its the distance from camp site to station that makes it hard. on the listings. camp site details say 1 mile. ha! as if. usualy a lot more than one mile. example. broadings farm. one mile from whitby. more than that. and down hill all the way. nice site and bus stops there too. i have passed it a few times. look ok.there is a camp site near the metro centre on the way to consett. easy enough to get there. bus right out side. it should be ok for a weekend. give my wife a taste of camping. they dont do camping in the philippines. the gateshead camp site may be the best bet for the wife for a first time. as i sad.i am down in the team in gateshead. in one of the two tower blocks.good bus service here to town centre and to newcastle. let me know just how far you can travel. there are a lot of camp sites in the northeast. whitby has a there as well. ok bye for now. (gonna finish my whiskey off)with lemonade) before the better half gets up.

It might be best to start off local for the first camping trip. I wan over to the Lakes to introduce my partner to it. She didn't like it and we headed home the same day. Hope you enjoyed your Whiskey.

sorry to hear she did not like it. local is fine by me. maybe she will be ok for a local trip. the camp site near the metro center. only a 5 minute ride from there. many years ago. before i got married for the 2nd time. i did a trip to shell island. mate who lived down there took me on his motor bike. nice place. however. bloody poured down. just after we got there. stupid tent i got was not as water proof as i thought. misread label. so moved into his tent for the next two nights. 5 man tent so lots of space. i swore that in future i will have a larger tent and better water proofing. i am not too sure if you still have a partner. if you do that is great. give my better half someone to chat to, as women love yapping all day.oh and before i forget. i don't drink whiskey the way it appears. lol. i just finished off what was left in the glass from the night before. i am a long way from being a plonky. whiskey with lemonade. never by it self. i don't get drunk. only tipsy. and only twice a week. i was back in bed by 8 this morning ,slept for few hours, don't sleep much at night.always up about 5 am for couple of hours. then back to bed. too bad your partner wanted to come home the same day from the lakes. long way for nothing. but she may be happy near to home at the gateshead camp site, club just out side. good chippie there as well and mayshe will like going to the metro centre. only a few mins on the bus. not too surwe of your age.not that it matters. i am 68 ..but still young at heart. age means nothing to me. you may have heard of a band called SPECIAL BREW. my son is the bass player in it. i heard he is supposed to be the best bassist in the northeast, hmm. maybe he is.no idea.only been to see him once. i find out he has been playing far too late. his wife is from poland. lovely girl. sadly her mum died a few months back. never met her. but saw a photo of her. wow. she was beautiful. ok. gonna do few things now. keep the better half happy. she managed to get my last 20 quid this morning. GRR.
