Hi Folks

Hoping you can help. We have an Elddis affinity 550 and there is something wrong but I need your advice before I buy another whale please.

The water comes through but the noise is so loud, then when the tap is turned off the squealing become even louder and the pump remains on so i have to flick the switch off, i can then immediately turn it back on and all is quiet until we run the water again - is it the whale or something more involved?

Thanks in advance

Clair

How long does the pump stay on for?

They normally run on for a short time to replenish the water in the system.

so its a pressure system you have then? have you reset the switch, which is usually hidden somewhere along the water pipes in the caravan

Try recalibrating the Whale i.c. controller first (I'm reasonably sure your caravan will be fitted with one of these). Instructions how to do this will be in the manual.

This sorted out many different similar issues in my caravan over the years, but despite it being supposedly a "once only" requirement , I had to repeat the exercise every so often.
Good luck & please let us know if this helps

Thanks all - I spoke to my local mobile engineer and he was passing - the whale pump had failed - he says he's not seen it happen before - they usually just completely stop. New whale purchased and normal noise again! Thanks for your messages
