We have a Coachman Highlander 450/2 and we're relatively new to this caravanning lark.
My question is when you hook up to mains electric, does the PDU (fuse box) master switch have to be switched on to charge the auxiliary battery?

If it has been switched off previously then yes. You will often find the charger has its own switch as well.

Brilliant, thanks very much! I wasn't sure if it was the same setup as when you hookup the car the current goes direct to the charger and bypasses the fuse box.
