I`ve been having numerous issues with the electrics on my 1995 Compass Reflections 430/5. My towing vehicle is a 2011 Renault Master van with a 13 pin connector. After using the 7s/7n to 13 pin adapter, i found the connections were too loose and the rear lights were hit and miss. I have now purchased the 13pin male plug with 2 cable entry points and have wired it up as per the numerous diagrams available, however, I`m still having the following issues:
1 - Brake lights arent coming on (red cable is showing continuity from the lights to the plug)
2 - Pin 8 on the 13 pin plug is for reversing lights, which my caravan doesn`t have.
Looking at the auxiliary wiring diagram in the manual, only 7s pins 2, 3, 4 and 6 are utilised:
7s Pin 2 - Blue (battery charging)
7s Pin 3 - White (I`m guessing earth)
7s Pin 4 - Green (diagram shows it going to the fuse for the battery and from there to the Zig controller)
7s Pin 6 - Red (Fridge)
So that leaves, Black, Brown and Yellow wires redundant. Am I correct in assuming the following connections to the 13 pin plug:
Pin 8 - nothing(no reversing lights on van)
Pin 9 - Blue (Permanent 12v)
Pin 10 - Red (Switched 12v for fridge)
Pin 11 - White (Earth)
Pin 12 - nothing
Pin 13 - nothing
Where does the green wire connect to? All of the diagrams I`ve seen say the blue wire is redundant, but it cant be?
I`m in desperate need here of some guidance. Can any of you help?
