i have an abbey Vogue with a door that's a bit stiff to shut, I know how to adjust it up or down but there seems to be no way to adjust sideways.
Any ideas folks

Any play in the hinges? If they are like mine the hinges are riveted to the frame with no adjustment.
Is the door catching the frame or is it the lock itself?

hi Gram no there is no play in the hinges, I originally thought you may be able to adjust them with the hinge pin as you can on some patio doors but doesn't seem possible.
There is a gap at the top of the door on hinge side and its tight to shut also there is nearly 3mm gap on hinge side between door and frame and virtually none on door catch side

Any damp inside the van? Has it warped and pulled the frame out of shape?
I had the opposite many years ago. But that was down to someone forgetting to latch the door properly whilst moving it and it caught the gate post and pushed the hinges inwards slightly.
This was an old caravan with hinges that bent. I presume your hinges will be small aluminum ones so wouldnt risk trying to bend those. Likely to snap.
Curious if anyone else can offer any advice without risk of causing damage elsewhere.

My van door is the same. I think it is down to the wind catching it and twisting it. Doors should always be closed are secured open, never just left hanging cos the wind will do real damage.
I found adjusting it up and down made it a bit better and I just live with problem. It doesn't let in any water even though I have a gap at the top. I bought a Fiamma Drip Strip to go above the door for added protection from water.

Hi Romany I had same problem on last van. Are you hinges angled ally held with countersunk socket bolts which can be moved up or down a channel for height adjustment. I moved top hinge on top half of stable type door by placing a two pound engineers hammer behind hinge and tapping other side with plastic hammer which altered angle slightly,Which in my case turned top of door anti-clock wise while lifting latchside of top half making the gap between top and bottom halves equal. I reckon this was wind damage as the door retainer is only on top half and slams into it if caught by strong wind

Hi all thanks for all ideas, there is no damp I suspect its more likely to be wind damage so will try the two hammer aproach and see what happens
