Hi,I have Thetford CK 13000 cooker with 3 gas rings & 1 electric hot plate. I wish to replace one gas ring thermocouple. Do I have to remove complete cooker to access the thermocouple or can I remove all the rings & top plate to access the thermocouple assembly without removing the cooker.
Can anyone point me in the right direction here, I understand how the system functions, I've done umpteen boiler thermocouples over the years.

Hi, I have been unable to locate any exploded diagrams of your Spinflo Aspire cooker to see how it comes to bits to gain access to the thermocouple. My suggestion would be to ring Leisureshop Direct in Devon and seek advice from someone there.

Dave.

Nae problem, my guess is that the top of the cooker will need lifting, just where the fixings are though, like at the sides, may mean the unit needs at least partial removal.
Good luck Al.

Hi Dave managed to get an Aspire exploded drawing through Thetford web site which shows all parts except fixing screws, I think your right, maybe have to move it party out to get to plate off, I'm still going to phone Leisureshop Direct for info. Don't have time at moment to tackle the job, when I do I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again Al

May I suggest before hand try tightening the 8 mm nut on the end of the thermocouple where it attaches to the gas valve notorious for loosening off slightly causing the pilot light to not stay lit.

Hi, yes thats something to check before I replace the thermocouples, l still have to remove the top plate & the decision for me is do I remove top plate with cooker in place or remove the cooker out of situ to remove plate, I think I'll have to partially remove cooker, check the 8mm nuts, reassemble & test, if works ok that's fine, if not remove again & replace thermocouples. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated, I don't have the time to do job at moment, I'll post progress as I go along. Al

If you pull the knobs of you can on some models get at the nut.
I would just pull it slightly out and check the front panel has got screws in the ends.

Hi, just took my time with this, removed 2 screws (6 in total) from top of the 3 gas burners, remove the black discs (3 off). Removed all screws from the black base plate (side, back & front) possibly 8 off. This allows you to manoeuvre the base plate up far enough to disconnect the electrical plate connection underneath, careful with this don't lift to high, then base plate lifts off, this exposes all thermocouples & connections. Hope this helps you. Regards Al

Had to remove my cooker from the unit to gain access to screws on the side. Removed the glass lid. Undid the burners complete with the screwed threads the burner tops screw into. Finally got access to the thermocouple. Just hope I remember where the bits go back when I get my replacement part.

hope it is the thermocouple? I work on domestic appliances and the most common fault is the knob not allowing the valve to close fully, to test pull the knob off push the tap down light and hold for a slow count to 10 if it stays alight its the knob

I had the same problem. And went down the same route thinking it was a thermocouple issue. In the end it turned out to to be a glass lid microswitch. Instinctively one would think that there would be just one microswitch to detect if the glass lid is closed. And therefore when diagnosing a fault one would think logically that it could not be a problem with the glass lid down microswitch because non of the burners would work. But this is not the case. On taking my cooker to pieces (quite straight forward), by the right hand hinge, there is a bank of 4 identical microswitches. I tested them all with an avo and sure enough one had failed. They are fail safe, so if they are not working the system thinks the glass lid is down and stops the appropriate hob from working.   I think the solution from thetford would be to replace the full bank of microswitches and they come as a kit with 3 thermocouples (about £75). I just replaced replaced the one microswitch and have not had a problem since. That was a good couple of years ago. I now sell the microswitches on ebay.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133777192324
