Spent this afternoon fitting a complete Whale 'Aqua-Smart' system in our van and at first it made a hell of a racket!!
This system I have is all mounted on a board, the instructions say screw the mounting board to the floor firmly but I found if I lifted the whole thing off the floor it ran very quietly but once back on the floor the racket returned?.
I have a mains water inlet with a solenoid valve to shut it off, my problem was some water was getting through the shut valve but making the pump vibrate as it struggled to pull it through, this inturn was vibrating the board against the floor hence the racket. Once I open the valve and allowed the pump all the water it wanted, it then became as quiet as a door mouse and it's not been screwed down yet!!
So in general, if there is any restriction to the input then it's going to make the pump vibrate. Whale's filter in the Aquaroll if blocked is one possible reason as is a lot of tight 'elbow bends' in the pipe leading to the pump. Equally restricted flow to the taps must have a similar effect and again tight elbow bends restrict flow.
Last problem I have is it 'hunting' on and off every 15 seconds when everything is supposedly off? I ran out of time and decided to switch it off at the pump switch until needed. It could be a leak but I don't think so and the battery's fine....any ideas???

Hi Gary, i have the same problem, checked everything, i have an on board water tank, fill it with a normal pump from an aqua roll, whe the o.b, tank is full it runs out through an overflow pipe, i then pull out the pump from the filler socket, noticed this w.e. that i could hear air coming out of the filler socket, there is a small mushroom type none return valve in the filler socket, ( which comes in a kit ) will get one this week, fit it next w.e. and see if that is the problem, let you know how i get on,
