No margaret, I am actually a great lover of dogs, we always had dogs when I was a child. We live in a block of apartments now though, so it wouldn't be fair on the dog if he/she didn't get the exercise they need. I never complain at a campsite about dogs as any probs are usually down to the owner!
OK Stabiliser. I will let you off.Its just that westies are a breed apart. Stitch is our 5th in almost 50 years and westie owners seem to get drawn to each other. I agree about problems with dogs being down to their owners though. On a campsite, our priority is a lead and doggy bags.
In a quiet corner of Kensington Gardens in London is the remains of a "pet" cemetery with parrots, cats and dogs etc.Tourist guides often mention one of the tombs inscriptions which reads, "Fifi lies here. More faithful than any of my three husbands" !!!!
For the all Important NCC Approved Mobile Workshop either enter your postcode, or scroll down to Paragraph 2 and enter your town.
The approved workshop scheme will ensure that when your caravan is serviced that the warranty is maintained and you get to watch your service being carried out, all at the fraction of the cost that the dealers charge.
Wainwright in Poynton was about £100 less than Harringtons if that is any guide. Plus he will either do it at home or take it away and bring it back as he did ours. He does have his own workshop and it's a family business.
what a valuable link this is! found a workshop in macclesfield, not far from where i live. will contact them and explain the situation regarding my warranty. perhaps they might be able to backtrack it? thanks for that dave.
hi again dave, just got to tell you this. i accessed the link you posted and got in touch with the mobile service engineer from macclesfield and explained my unfortunate situation with the van warranty. he was awfully nice and said that provided everything was ok with the van he would be able to sort something out about the service date, so that my warranty would remain valid. i cant believe it!!! its such a relief to know that the warranty on my van is going to be rescued! got an appointment for the 8th of may -his first available date. the cost for the full service is £110 + any parts that may be needed. thank you again for such a valuable link. oh, he wanted to know where i got his details from, and when i said it was from a ukcs forum he said that that was how he got most of his clients! nice one -for me!
hi again margaret, i've writen wainwrights number on my phone book for future reference. thank you very much. however i rang the bloke from macclesfield first and he said he could sort out the mess i'd made with my warranty . so he is coming round in about 3 weeks to service my van. thanks again.
Glad you got sorted. The problem with dealers is that the person in customer services isn't normally the person who services your van. So when you explain any faults/problems they won't have a clue what you're on about so most of this information won't get passed on accuratley.
P.S. your service can be 5 weeks either side of the anniversary date.
Hi Stabiliser,
As for prices, it all depends on how you look at it. If you take it to a dealer, then you will have to make 2 journeys, which costs petrol, and leave it for them to sort; whereas the mobile engineer comes to you, so you not only save petrol, but you can watch the service being carried out.
Like I have said before, 'Yer pays yer money yer takes yer choices'
