Im so pleased you are ready to roll again,i bet it is exciting, how long did your repair take? i just wondered was it a long time to dry out?,most of our damp wood has gone now,its just the awning timber that needs to dry.
Really glad you are near the end now Nikki well done.
hi wizard do u need to use a special paint or will interior emulsion be ok i am sorry for asking all these questions but i dont want to use the wrong stuff.murano it was to damp for the ply to dry out o/h and brotherinlaw had to remove the damp interior wood and replace it with plywood so now we have to decorate it we just unsure wether to wallpaper whole van or just paint it but i am once again unsure as to wether we can just paint the plywood or would we have to put a backing paper on first.
I would think interior emulsion would be fine on wall paper . Or you could just paint the bare plywood with a onecoat gloss , matt , etc .
If you are intending to paint on top of some of the original wall covering that's on the wall board at present i don't know what to suggest as most caravan wallboard is covered with vinyl , and i'm not sure how paint would take to it .
Thanks Nikki,we had to remove all the old board too it was rotten and had just turned to mulch, the only bit we have salvaged was the awning timber.I wonder if kitchen paint would be good as its supposed to stop flaking and peeling from any condensation ect.
Wizard i dont know what we would do without your site and the help of others, thankyou.
thank you both wizard and murano for all your help and tips i will let u no whichever we decide to use and let u no how we get on once again thank you very much
