Hi Steve. Thanks for your reply and advice, it does sound pretty straight forward and looking at it, I was all set to tackle the job. Well, it seems the mere threat of removing the nails appears to have got the van to put it's house in order! Or it could be having taken the light cluster off yet again, I had 'fiddled' with the wiring and bulb holder, with a positive result; whatever was causing the problem has migrated for the winter. I guess I will need to be vigilant because the problem could return just as easily as it seems to have left.
