hedge hogs eating mouse bait ? dont think so. birds maybe if very hungry.
I think it's quite possible that a hedgehog would eat pellets. As for the birds they are actually very likely to, as are cats and other creatures... like perhaps even some inquisitive toddler...
To the OP (& everyone else who doesn't know !) any poison should be placed in a position where only the intended vermin is likely to be able to get to it.
If you really must try to poison mice then for god's sake please take more care - put it in for example a piece of drainpipe, or under a piece of slate propped on a couplke of pebbles at the corners to raise it about an inch - that way a mouse will get to it, but you'll decrease the liklihood of poisoning birds and other creatures too.
