The directional Status aerials are (in my opinion) very good and work well. They aren't a direct swap for the 'flying saucer' though and need a 50mm hole cut through the roof of the van. If the existing aerial is in a suitable place, you may get away with cutting the original hole (with a proper hole cutter), otherwise you may need to muck around with blanking plates etc. I fitted my own 560 on a previous van, and had to relocate it. Not a difficult job, but one you might not fancy doing.
Why not consider a kit similar to this from Toolstation? Full touring kit, aerial, mast and fittings for £25. Cheap booster and a signal meter (the latter is a must to help setting up) and you'll be sorted.
