Maybe neither here nor there for you chum, but it's a lot of site fees in my book!   I don't grudge the price of the van, I don't grudge the fees for sites but I sure as heck think that what you say about servicing charges and the dealers' attitude towards us punters sums it up.   I'm not sure if you agree with me or side with the ripper offers?

Er, it is alot of money actually &  im not really siding with anyone , just making a point.

i wouldnt pay it , but there again , i wouldnt go to a dealer and buy a new caravan in the 1st place.makes no difference to me if they charge £50 or £500 to check the roof seams or whatever.the point is , people do buy new , they do need servicing to keep the warranty valid so the dealer will charge what they like for this work as do car servicing/ dealerships.

there is a choice , pay it or dont pay it..........

Thanks Bev and Jon, and you can see what my choice has been.

That's why I bought a damp meter.   The first check caused a bit of a scare hence my original post, but I'm glad to say that now that the warmer weather is here everything seems back to normal.   I pulled back the rubber internally and everything is bonny and clean underneath - no mould and the mastic is fresh as a daisy, white and sticky.  If there was damp behind the panel it would show up on the meter I'm sure.

Anyway, thanks for the opinions expressed.  This is a great site for help and discussion
