Sorry, I was referring to the post by Naturlist123 who posted tow & brake test of van on road.

the cheapest BPW one shot 36 mm nuts I could find on the internet was £6.30 + £3.20 postage each even on[ E-bay which were most prob fakes] so two for £ 18 is I think reasonable.

there was some alko ones cheaper but are 35mm. One well know spares supplier was selling reusable castleated nuts with split pin securing as one shot nuts.

Also a very famous caravan/ MH spares dealer was selling a pair for £20.16 + postage

the Alko nut thread stops at the top of hexagon where as BPW nuts have a extra threaded part above the hexagon like self locking nuts but without the nylon insert.

The mobile service engineer who carried out the service on my van and fitted new brake cables and replaced the single use nuts after moving brake drums cleaning and inspecting brake shoes etc (Only one brake cable was duff but I insisted both were renewed)

After all work was completed he hitched up and towed van down our back lane and slammed on brakes 25/30 mph. the van braked dead in line no skid to left or right . I was very happy with this as I have now sold the van to a very happy buyer, and I know that I have sold the van with no damp fully habital and fully road worthy( and safe tyres & valves) [read Threads on this web site]

So I hope The Buyer gets as much enjoyment out of Bertha as the wife and I did ( wifes name for are van) she is still thinking about our new van hasn,t come up with one yet.

It was just a comment about the price of the nuts, I understand what they were. Sorry for any confusion.

We were quoted £190 to service a freedom microlite, then between £17-£30 for new towing lights.
Its a basic van so we thought that was an expensive price so we are still looking.

Our last service on a twin axle was £625 which included a small repair to the bodywork{ my fault i slipped with a stanley knife} and 4 x new tyres.....yes they had signs of cracking but they looked brand new but for insurance purposes we had them changed....

top tip when buying a second hand caravan...CHECK THE TYRES...
