its surprising how many people think the pressure figure on the side of a tyre is what it should be blown up to as opposed to the maximum it can be blown up to..

if its carrying its maximum weight then it needs to be at its maximum pressure otherwise the pressure is related to the weight the tyre is carrying..

the less weight the less pressure.. the less pressure the less stress the tyre is under.. my van tyres have a very easy life.. the pressure needs to be high enough to carry the weight.. nothing is to be gained by exceeding it..
