I'm not risking mixing the 2 types, and I can get G13 from ebay at less than 12 quid for 5L concentrate.
I would warn others to check very carefully anything offered as G13, or using G13 in part of the brand name, to ensure it really is a fluid approved to VW TL 774 J [G13].
There are providers looking for clients who don't do their homework and those keen to buy at bargin prices.
Best if you have found a bargin product to ask Alde if it is one they approve.
Hi I believe the fluid level should be about 1/2 inch above the minimum level. So where is the minimum?
We have a sight glass but no marker, do I assume minimum is the very bottom of the sight glass? It's a 4 inch long cut out with rounded top and bottom, any advice would be appreciated, thanks
If you have not the user manual download one from the following link:
https://www.alde.co.uk/manuals-and-documents/
In this you will find an image of the tank from which you ought to make a judgement of the level required.
At a guess I would suggest the cold fluid level needs to be about an inch & a half from the tank's bottom.
Thing are not that critical, there needs to be enough so fluid is drawn from the tank not air, so you need to see it.
As soon as the fluid starts to warm up it expands IMO a surprising amount.
In that lies a problem in that with caravans with quite a bit of fluid capacity, if you overfill, then when hot the system will simply dump the excess out via the tank's overflow tube, and probably spit a little via the tank vent tube.
The good news here is when it cools down, it will be as full as it can be run at.
If the caravan instalation is correctly done the overflow tube should go through the floor and dump the rejected fluid on the ground. Wash away, particularly so if there are cats in the locality
