We bought a 1996 van and were told the very same thing as yourselves by the previous owners, "There's a little bit of damp under this window". I have since had this 'little bit of damp' repaired by a 'professional' and it cost me £150!!!

The 'professional then told us that the damp had got under the front window and would cost an arm & a leg to repair properly. Feeling a bit dejected, I found this website and after browsing through and looking at the repairs that other members have undertaken, I've decided to give it a go myself. If you are a bit handy at the DIY and take things slowly (like I will be doing myself once we get the van home from it's winter resting place).

There are also all those people online to give you advice and guidance should you hit any problem areas.

I'd say - Go for it! - at that price and for an extra £100 or so if you do it yourself, you can't lose.

Cheers & best of luck
