My daughter's van has the same problem, fridge works fine on 12v and gas. On 240v  it gets hot at the back but doesn't cool the fridge.

Any ideas to what has gone and how easy to replace?

Not sure if I've read it on here before or heard elsewhere, but the combi fridges don't always start up on 240v after cold winter storage. Needs to start up on gas for the first time, then switch over to 240v once cold. Something to do with the refridgerant settling over winter!
