First my fully serviced exchange modules are £66 including postage!, second I send hundreds out and near all are fitted by owners. That's because the module is very simple to change near on impossible to get wrong and only takes five minutes. Infact following advice sent with the module you will fit it correctly, something you don't get with a new one!!!
But, I was suggesting you brought alone your module for service which is not the same as above, providing it responds to this then the cost will be very much less.
Gas/12v mean gas electronically controlled by 12v and not heated by 12v. As for an exchange gas/electric model, you missed the boat this morning as a dealer bought the only one I had...a Derby dealer as it happens!!
