Does any body climb on top of their caravan roof when washing it. I tried this last week, some bits felt solid enough but some bits felt a bit spongey. Couldn't believe how dirty the roof was, only brand new on 24/3/07
Hi MickeyM, your roof is a very lightweight thin construction and will not take any kind of weight or load. Use step ladders and an extension brush or as EJB says a ladder with foam pads and do the roof in two halves. I hope you have escaped and not dented or bowed the roof in any way. Happy cleaning Regards Ogg
NEVER!!!....That's the second time I have said it in this thread
From a distance...OK, but if you get close enough it will remove the sealant that keeps it waterproof! Plus, of course, it will penetrate all the vents and holes in the 'van and wash the inside as well
The caravans from the continent are the only ones I am aware of which will withstand roof walkers. I know Cristall roofs are substantial enough, but the bailey claim is that it is a light van to tow - I wouldn't chance it. Get a long handled floor mop .

Been on the roof of last 3 caravans to clean & polish, all GRP & no problems. Only difficulty is getting off the b....y roof again.
if you did't use polish in the first place the whole job would be easier
baileys advert of 5 guys on standing on the top a of a caravan does not hold water to me.any damage done by climbing on would void any warranty anyway.i use fenwicks cleaner a bit stonger than the general wash.
