Help / advice please,

My son has bought an oven to fit in his caravan, seems straightforward enough, just a matter of removing the cupboard door under the hob,and should fit into the space. The oven is a fitted one and just needs 4 screws to hold it into the cupboard frame.

Is there anything he need to be specially aware of! as it was used and no fitting instructions.

there is a vent to the outside at the top of the cupboard and a large gas drop out hole underneath.

thanks in advance

Steve

Hi Steve

Hubby has fitting two ovens in our time caravaning and he says that the cupboard should have a metal liner in it. The gas feed to the oven should have a master on/off switch fitted just for the oven and one for the hob we also have one for the fridge. Most ovens vent out the front my new oven has a fancy grill at the front.

I fitted a oven in my caravan , it's pretty straight forward .  If you are not sure what you are doing when it comes to connecting the gas get a pro to do it for you .

The pipe is 1/4" which you will probably need to get from a caravan dealer. If you use 8mm which is very close, it will not fit. It should also be tested by a corgi gas fitter. People may tell you it has to be fitted by a corgi dealer, but this is not correct. It must be fitted by "a competent person" a corgi dealer has to test it.

When I say it should be fitted by a corgi dealer, I put the emphasis on should and distinctly avoid the word must
