Hi

Firstly, forgive my very basic description of this problem, I'm not a techie by any means.

Anyway went away over the Easter break, and for the first time had loads (well 3) of things go wrong - water pump failed, door lock jammed and had to be jemmied open, then the right hand side internal lights failed.

So, £40 for a new pump later..... whilst OH was trying to find out if the failed water pump was due to a blown fuse, he firstly checked the fuse box on the wall (again please excuse lack of technical description - perhaps another experienced caravanner could correct me) - it's got a cover which you remove then all the fuses are lined up 2 at a time.

At some point over the winter (assume this as van was serviced in October and all working fine then) one of the fuses seemed to have 'melted' and welded itself to the board all the fuses are connected to - OH thinks there was a mini fire in there but I can't quite imagine that putting itself out .

He pulled the fuse out - which doesn't seem to have blown - and put a new one in, but then all the internal and external lights on the RHS of the van wouldn't work. So we spend the rest of the holiday in partial darkness !

So I suppose my question is, how do we fix this? Do we need a new 'board' and what is it called? Or is this a more major job for a garage (please no!).  We are due to go away at the end of May so need to get sorted asap.

Thanks in advance, if you aren't all totally confused by now

Sounds like you got a zig cf2000

easy enough to replace like for like:

everything is marked

Your only problem is the fact that they are no longer available new and you would have to replace it with the zig cf9 which is a slightly different size and design.

However the good news is there are at least 2 on eBay at the moment this one end time 3rd May and this one end time 8pm tonight (26 April) expect to pay upto around £50 for one

New cf 9s are around £125

Hi this will be the board that supplies the 12 volt current to lights and water pump from the battery i presume plus other 12 volt points, if the water pump just seized it would only blow a fuse, if the board has melted then there has been a major short and the fuse has not done it's job
Were the right fuses installed and i hope there was no silver paper or fuse wire wrapped around them, it's likely that the fuse board is damaged due the short but before repair replacing you need to find the reason, get a multi meter and check connections from fuse board to lights that are not working.

Ahh so it's called a Zig board? Thanks....

Mudlark thanks so much - ours is actually a zig sp-9v so I'll have a look for one of those.

Ramius - great, thanks.  I think that is what has happened - no silver paper in sight tho', fuse was correct one.  Will try what you suggest before getting a replacement.
