our new caravan came with a cable that is quite short.   we already have a suncamp cable with 3 domestic plugs in it which is very long.   i was wondering if we could plug the short cable into the caravan power socket as normal, then plug this into the cable with the 3 plugs with the rdc using a dometic plug /elec hook up adaptor so i can use it in the awning...then plug  it into the site mains.

i will probably not use the power in the awning very often, maybe to run the microwave off, for 4 mins,....will this be ok to do

I think it's possible to do what your suggesting , providing that the long cable protects everything going from it with the RCD , it is a switched supply ie you can turn it off , and you keep the cable socket end off the ground . Also make sure the cable is big enough to handle the loads drawn through it .
Imo it would be far better to run a cable from the site supply to the caravan and then from a socket in the caravan to the awning .
