Please would it ber possible for you to give me some advice.

We have a 1998 Swift Verona which we have had for 1 year now, it cost 2,800 and yes we have founds that it has damp in the bottom end.

We would like to fix the problem for ourselves (after being inspired by the website) although we have no idea of where to get the boarding from to match the caravan, please could you let us know if you have any ideas of where we could get this from.

Many thanks

Samantha

Hi Samantha and welcome, when I had to find wallboard to repair my caravan, I found it at Barrons, worth a try at any local caravan repairer.
Cheers

Hi Samantha,

It would help to know where you are ased but I've just completed a project replacing part of the ceiling in my 1987 Abbey GTS 418. I went to Magnum in Grimsby. They didn't have an exact match but we found one pretty close to the original. It's a right little Aladdins' cave and they had everything I needed to complete the job (except for the timber framework which was from B&Q).

I will be adding a link to my site with details of the project soon. Good luck.

Hi Wizard, no probs. Would love to! Your site inspired me to tackle my own repair and it's saved me a fortune. The van (20 yrs young this year) will last me a lot longer yet.

Cheers, Spider

Can you send me the link as well please Spider and I will do likewise. Ours is 28years young this year, not the oldest on the road by a long way! I have e-mails from Thomson owners who have caravans that are from the early 60's! Hope ours lasts that long!

Is your real name spider, because that was my uncles name and I named my youngest son after him.  It's nice to think that he is not the only 'Spider" out there, Also, didn't know there was ameet at Bruce's Cave or we would have gone.  Haven't been to one yet, but are quite keen.

Hi Papa, surely will. I'm hoping to get it started in the next few days, only problem is I was stripping the very outdated washroom wallpaper tonight when I stumbled across a damp patch in the wallboard next to the Thetford! Looks like the cassette door seal has started leaking but the damage isn't too bad yet. Should get away with a good coat of wood hardener and a touch of filler. Phew.

Hi Bunny, sorry to disappoint you but it's my nickname as my surname is Webb. My late neighbour was called Bunny. On the Bruces Cave issue, that was posted by Papa Pip, and I'll be at my nieces wedding then www.skelwithfold.co.uk that week.

Hi Spider can I put your link on my site. I know how you feel when you think it`s only a small job and it turns out to be alot bigger than you thought. Best of luck with the repair.

Hi Kevin,

No problem. I'll do the same if that's ok. The site is up now but I've still got a lot of work to do on it. The link is on my profile and it should be in my signature but I havn't tested it yet.

Cheers
