Hi

Have v old caravan (1950s). Have restored it cosmetically but need to get someone to give it once over for safety.

Used it a couple of times last summer no problems on the surface of it but am aiming to take it out for first time end of the month.

I have been out to check it. I know for a rfact lights are now not working. Also it has a gas cooker but I have been too scared to test gas on my own in case of leak but would be really nice to be able to use it if its safe.

Am waiting on call backs from a couple of blokes to come and see it but trouble is I have no idea what is reasonable price for a full caravan service. Like most have not got the money to be ripped off. Can anyone give me hints/guidelines?

I'm afraid I am all the way in Stevenage, van is in a little village just outside called Graveley.

There may be no prob with the gas its just its a really old van and I have a vision of trying to ignite the grill and blowing us all up.

I guess I want to ensure there are no leaks and that it works ok.

Theres no way I would expect him to travel here for free so would give him something but would also understand if we are too far away.
