I'm presuming it was you that posted a Q on another forum re grubby grab handles?

Well, try soaking them overnight in Bio washing powder... mine came up a treat but will probably have to do them on a regular basis. (I should really replace them  but that  means spending money!!)

Yes, it was me - and thanks very much for your reply.  I was just looking for any answers now, but have been distracted by other postings along the way.  How do you get them off to soak them, though?   Do they 'prise' apart?  I can ask our local dealership, who are very amenable to answering questions from a 'helpless woman' - the van's in there for repair at the moment, as we had a tyre burst whilst in France and it did some slight damage to the underneath of the van.  As we're going again in August we want to make sure it's watertight before we go!

Mine are held on by screws, perhaps someone might be along soon to explain how yours come off.

Actually there is an alternative method that you might like to try.... just place two bowls behind the van, inline with the handles, then tip the 'van onto it's back. Hey presto job done, saves all the trouble of trying to get them off (you might need some assistance... and make sure the opened wine bottles in the 'van are stoppered, otherwise well, what a waste!)

Thanks for that John - I think I'll pass on the latter method!!!!  (did see one, end up, on the motorway one time, and blimey did it look big with the wheels in the air).  Will try to get them off once van returned from repairs - if not will probably replace them when we come back next time - apparently they're not expensive and can be self-fitted (so I'm told).
