I have taken an early 1980's Ace Jubilee Diplomat caravan, and turned it into a trailer. (Unfortunately it was all it was good for!) I would now like to replace the brake shoes, bearings etc before I use it to tow all my camping gear down to Cornwall for the family annual hols. Does anyone know what size of brake shoes I would need? And what size bearings etc. I know it's a long shot but any advice would help as otherwise I may need to buy different sizes just to try, which could prove to be a bit costly. Thanks!

best thing is to take them out and take them with you, most bearings are obtainable, as are the brake parts, some good motor factors might be able to help (by good i dont mean halfords/motor world!)

a lot of early caravans used car wheels and brakes,so it should not be hard to match up if you take them with you to the dealer.for example.some have the part number stamped on the shoe itself.or you could ask about a reline of the shoes.

the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
